The Narcotics Unit is led by a lieutenant and two sergeants who oversee nine detectives.  The members of the unit are highly trained individuals who work proactively to help fight the spread of illicit drugs.

The unit is responsible for the investigation of the possession, sale or manufacture of illegal drugs within the city of Pine Bluff. The investigations primarily begin from sources developed by the Narcotics Detectives, but can begin from anonymous sources, citizen complaints, or other investigative techniques.

The Narcotics Unit also investigates vice type of crimes and addresses various quality of life issues that arise within our city. Narcotic Detectives proactively investigate vice crimes such as gambling, prostitution, and patronizing prostitution. The unit also works closely with agents of the Alcohol Beverage Control to ensure compliance of city and state alcohol laws by permitted businesses.
The Narcotics Unit also is actively involved in Nuisance and Abatement in an effort to rid our neighborhoods of crime which can have an adverse effect on a citizen’s quality of life.
