Homicide

    

                    On March 10, 2026, at about 8:45 P.M., Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to the area of Port Road and Kansas St. for gunshots in the area. On arrival Officers located a male lying in the road near the northwest corner of the intersection of Port and Kansas. The male was unresponsive and had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The male was later pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. The victim will be identified once his family has been notified of the death.

                   Another male was located near the intersection of Port and Byrd. He had minor gunshot wounds as well. He was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. His injuries are not life threatening.

                   This homicide is in the early stages of investigation and there is no suspect information to release at this time. The victim will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy to rule official cause and manner of death.
