03/23/2026
Pine Bluff Police Chief Shawn Davis addresses the crowd on Sunday, March 22, 2026, as part of a candlelight vigil to remember victims of gun violence.
PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Messages of peace, love and remembrance filled the Pilgrim M.B. Church Sunday afternoon during the Gun Violence Victims Memorial Candlelight Vigil.
This is the second such event, which is sponsored by The Pine Bluff Police Department and our Group Violence Intervention team.
Pine Bluff Police Chief Shawn Davis told families who gathered that their lost loved ones are more than just headlines in a newspaper.
He also offered words of comfort and praise for their bravery in the face of deep-cutting sorrow. Photos of lost loved ones filled the sanctuary, along with flowers and an abundance of memories.
At the end of the event, each family stood, lit a candle, and named their loved one who was lost to gun violence.
