Information sought in killing of Chauncy Long

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Pine Bluff Police Department is seeking the public's help in connection with the Oct. 22, 2017, homicide of Chauncy Long.
Long was shot at approximately 9:46 p.m. in the 6000 block of West Short 3rd Street in Pine Bluff.
Officers responded to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center after a male victim, identified as Chauncy Long, was brought to the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper back.
Long was later pronounced deceased.
A second victim, a juvenile female, also sustained a gunshot wound to the chest but survived her injuries.
According to witness statements, Long and the female victim were leaving an apartment when occupants of an unknown vehicle began shooting. The suspects fled the area immediately after the shooting and remain unidentified.
Today, Oct. 20, 2025, would have been Long's 26th birthday.
"His life was taken far too soon, and his family continues to seek closure," said John Worthen, PBPD's public information specialist. "Detectives with the Pine Bluff Police Department Major Crimes Division are actively investigating this case and following all available leads."
